Subject: Harvard ManageMentor Strategy Planning and Execution Café

Strategy is the unique way our organization carries out its purpose—and separates itself from the competition. Each team in turn needs its own strategy to ensure that its day-to-day activities help move the organization in the right direction. Whether you initiate a strategic planning process or contribute to the organization’s overall strategic plan, you’ll benefit from knowing some basics about strategic planning.

To develop your strategic planning skills, join us for a Strategy Planning and Execution Café session, a learning opportunity sponsored by WPO Chapter Chair and based on material from Harvard ManageMentor. The Café will be led by Bonny Boice, Albany 1, 2 and Saratoga NY Chapter Chair. This hour-long session is scheduled for May 18th at noon via ZOOM. The Café will provide an opportunity for you to practice performing a SWOT analysis, identifying priority issues for your unit to pursue, and developing high-level action plans to address the priority issues.

Before attending the Café, please be familair with the following five lessons and the assessment in the Harvard ManageMentor Strategy Planning and Execution topic:

  • Understand Strategy
  • Develop a Strategic Plan
  • Create Detailed Action Plans
  • Execute Strategic Plans
  • Evaluate and Reward Performance

To sign up for the Harvard program:


User Agreement:

All members must complete a User Agreement in order to gain access to the program and the platform. This User Agreement states that the signer agrees to not share the content of the program according to the guidelines and other notices in the agreement.

Once your User Agreement is received, members will be provided access to the platform. Please give WPO and Harvard Business Publishing time after we receive your agreement, as it will take approximately one week for you to gain access.

Here is how to complete the User Agreement:

1. Click HERE to access the agreement.

2. Type in email address on the internet page that opens.

3. Click “Verify your email address”.

4. Return to your email inbox and locate the email to verify your email address.

5. In the email you received, click “Review document”.

6. You will then be taken to review and sign the document. Please follow the proceeding instructions.

If you need more support with the WPO/Havard program there is an orientation recorded on the WPO portal:

 You will need to sign into the WPO website with your email and password. If you don’t know your password, click the Forgot Password Link on the login page.
