Letting Go!

"Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go." ~unknown

This Fall I encourage you to free yourself from being controlled by what other people think. Start to prioritize how YOU feel about YOURSELF. You can’t live by your values if you’re living for the approval of others.

"Dr. Carol Dweck has spoken about the importance of being defined not by the present, but by who you want to be. We are all in a constant state of becoming. So, let your desired future self be the thing predicting your current behavior — not your past. Your behavior signals back to you the type of person you think you are, solidifying your identity and eventually becoming your personality. It is your behavior that creates your personality, not the other way around." ~ Harvard Business Review

How can you let go of what others think?

As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”

Becoming your best self starts with self reflection, the ability to see ourselves clearly. Tasha Eurich's research may be just the insight to support our letting go of what others think and get to know yourself a little better. Check out Tasha's seventeen minute Ted Talk. Then ask yourself WHAT not WHY move forward:

  • What is more important to me?

  • What can I do to enable myself to have more time for self-care?

  • What wins have I had in the past 90 days?

  • What are one to three things I could do today to make progress toward my future best self?

  • What questions can I ask myself to move forward?
