Wrapping Up 2021

"Without reflection, we go blindly on our way, creating more unintended consequences, and failing to achieve anything useful.” ~ Margaret J. Wheatley

A New Year is right around the corner! Before we close out 2021, I ask you to reflect and answer one question....What are you grateful for in 2021??

3 Stages of Gratitude

Self-reflection on a regular basis supports our ability to complete the 3 stages of gratitude:

  • RECOGNITION

  • ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

  • APPRECIATION

Gratitude allows us to recognize our connection to the rest of humanity and acknowledge others’ roles in our lives. As we start to experience this joy and gratefulness, we begin a habit of recognizing and thanking the people around us, nature, or even our luck. We realize gratitude is a necessary and natural way to show appreciation.

Why should we reflect on our blessings?

Gratitude helps us feel positive emotions, remember good experiences, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. Maybe spending time on a year-end gratitude practice will enhance our new year!!

It’s a practice that requires acknowledging someone else's gesture towards us or the things that are going well in our lives. It involves both a process of recognition of the positive and its outcome.

"...Let us be thankful for the blessings of the past and the promise of the future.” ~ Peggy Toney Horton

Is there someone you would like to reach out to and show your appreciation for their relationship in your life or thanking them for a specific way they bring JOY into our world?

As we prepare for 2022, let's be more purposeful with our gratitude practice now, and into our new year. Imagine a future with gratitude recognized, acknowledged and appreciated.

“Well, we have a whole new year ahead of us. And wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all be a little more gentle with each other, a little more loving, and have a little more empathy, and maybe, next year at this time we’d like each other a little more.” ~ Judy Garland
